With the upcoming forecast of bad weather this weekend, you're going to want something for the kiddos to do. This Melting Ice Science Experiment is a great way to occupy your little ones and take advantage of the cold weather.

Materials:

  • Bowls

  • Large tray with sides

  • Salt

  • Food coloring or liquid watercolors Image title

  • Droppers or a spoon

Instructions:

  1. Fill different sized bowls with water and let them freeze overnight (tupperware is great for this)

  2. Next morning, loosen ice from bowl with warm water and set them on the tray. (sides are needed to hold anything that melts)

  3. Sprinkle the salt over the tops of the ice (table salt works)

  4. Once the salt starts to melt the ice get out the dye

  5. Using the dropper, add the colors over the ice

  6. Lastly, take them outside and enjoy your little ice suncatcher
